Rega Atlas Digital Stylus Force Gauge
MY TAKE: Disappointed with the poor quality and inaccuracy of the stylus force gauges on the market? We were, and so we’re thrilled to offer the Rega Atlas – at last, a quality stylus force gauge! – Galen Carol
The Rega Atlas tracking force gauge is designed to be easy use, consistent and exceptionally accurate. Our engineers have meticulously selected each component to offer the highest possible performance. The Atlas was born out of frustration having used so many outsourced gauges in our tonearm production areas over the years for them to consistently fail after minimal use.
The Rega Atlas tracking force gauge is designed to provide reliable and accurate measurement of tracking force for the lifetime of your turntable. Inside the durable aluminium casework is a highly stable loadcell and precision amplification circuitry. There is also a custom designed front guard to protect the measuring element and provide easy alignment. This allows the Atlas to achieve accurate and reliable performance with minimal input from the user.
The loadcell is a premium full bridge, shear beam construction. The cell is temperature compensated for a wide range of operating temperatures and is extremely resilient to shocks and deterioration over time.
The intelligent design of the Atlas ensures the tracking force is measured in the same place every time allowing for very fine adjustment to two decimal places.

The Analog Man - “The Atlas is well built and easy to use but some of you will still be trembling by the price tag. I’ve a few comments to make about that.
Firstly, yes, it’s expensive but, for what you get, I can understand that price. The Atlas is one of the best downforce gauges you can buy. The engineering and build attest to that. In its class, there are other gauges available. There’s one from Cartridge Man, of a similar type but that retails at around £259, which makes the Rega a positive bargain by comparison.
“When you consider how robust it is, its reliability and accuracy, the price begins to make sense.” – Paul Rigby
Specifications -
Accuracy: +/-0.01 grams
Range: 0-3 grams
Safe Overload: 10 grams
Supply: 9V PP3 cell
